Wrapping Up My GL Journey

Having come to the end of the Guided Learning Module. I have reflected on how I have learned new things and life skills.
This journey would not have been successful without the guidance of my Learning Facilitator, Mr Alden and my mentors, Dr Teo and Dr Francis. My heartfelt appreciation goes to them.
This journey has not been all smiles, it has its ups and downs. But having done this gives me great joy. I have learnt a new skill, designing. Not just about mixing words with pictures, but using art to attract an audience. It is never perfect on first try, but one built on effort and heard work.
I was filled with great happiness when my survey garnered 140 responses, I expected a range of 100-150 responses, but began to feel worried that I would not have reached that target within my time frame when the first week garnered less than 40 responses. However, I took the effort to join facebook groups and social media groups to blast my survey, without worrying too much (I did ask the moderators for permission to post it).
The project took a downturn when I was faced with a heavier load of assignments from my already demanding schedule. I began to let my project slide off and placed less emphasis on it. I realised that if I did not pick it back up then, I would have lost control of my progress and not be able to pick it back up.
If I did this module again, I would set my plan phase properly and not be too ambitious to set goals that may cause overworking.
For my perform phase, I should have stuck to my time plan to ensure that there would be no lag in the projects progress.
This project has benefited my growth in a few ways.
It has taught me to be more self-directed, to push myself to reach my goals even when under pressure. Not being "spoon-fed" has forced me to learn that I have the potential to solve problems with slight guidance.
It has boosted my innovation, as I have to be creative and find ways to attract my audience.
It has trained me to collaborate with external organisations, like how I have communicated with my mentors. who are not from my school.
It has broadened my knowledge and experience on digital information technology.
This project has been worthwhile and very enriching.
