Failure to Plan = Planning to Fail

The first step in my learning process is to plan out what I would be doing over the 16 Weeks I have for this module. It is also the first step in Temasek Polytechnic's Self-Directed Learning Plan-Perform-Monitor-Reflect (PPMR).
After the initial submission of my proposal, My learning facilitator steered the writing a refined proposal where we had to look more in-depth into our projects. I had to break down the new skills I wanted to pick up. I had to evaluate how these skills will enable me to be a more knowledgeable and skill-driven person.
I had to evaluate what I already know and find out what more I would need to learn. Listing my resources, where I would look to for more information regarding my project. Evidence of learning was essential to show that I have been picking up these new skills.
Finally, having to list down my timeline and deadlines to meet for the learning process and project to be executed well.
In life, we always need to plan out what we would like to do in our schedule, not doing so may disrupt our plans. I took this opportunity to scrutinize my project and sort out my ideas. During this Covid-19 situation, where all lessons are home-based, I have been lagging as the content I have to learn is harder to grasp than when I am physically in school. Planning out what I would need to complete before the week allows me to focus on the more critical tasks. I have penned down a schedule for my projects, allowing me to space them rather than rushing.
Having to plan my learning was an eye-opening experience as I did not have to follow a fixed schedule done by a teacher, as for my other modules.
Learning @ PLAN
Being unable to physically meet-up during this time, with strict measures to curb the spread of COVID-19 has had an effect on the project. However, with the use of technology, I could maintain communication with my external mentors from AVS & SVA. My mentors were very supportive by replying me as soon as they could and ensuring that no question was left unreplied.
The initial link-up was done by one of my mentors, Dr Teo.

I ensured that I reply that email, showing them my interest to embark on the project.

Ensuring that I clarify my doubts and replying to their feedback ensures that there is communication. I have learnt how to properly sentence my emails using the Grammarly software. It has ensued that my emails are written with correct english and leaves less room for miscommunication.
